INDEPENDENCE DAY was Celebrated in a grand manner on Thursday , August 15, 2013
at Cambridge Institute of Technology. Shri
D K MOHAN, Chairman, Cambridge Group of Institutions hoisted the tri – colour National flag and
distributed sweets to all the students. Dr. B.V. Ravishankar, Principal, addressed
the gathering and reminded the sacrifices of freedom fighters to fetch
freedom for the country, which all of us
are enjoying today.
On the same
occasion, the Department of Management Studies portrayed a film clip to the
audience depicting a reverence & their gesture of thanks giving to about
150 BBMP workers at their place of living where they also commence their daily
routine of cleaning the streets &
keeping it tidy everyday. The programme
was conceived by Ms. Deepti Shetty & Mr. Vijaykumar Dhannur, Assistant
Professors in the Department of Management Studies and aptly named SPARSH – Make a Difference, really
making a difference to a set of BBMP workers whose yeomen job goes unnoticed
& unthanked.
Mr.M. UMANAND RAI, Deputy Commissioner Mahadevpura zone,, BBMP
was the Chief Guest for the function, who also appreciated the Students’
initiative to recognise the services of
the BBMP staff and also honouring them. He emphasised that this process
should continue and participate in
making the environment clean and healthy. He pledged his support for such causes, and volunteered to direct the students in their future
projects of similar kind.
Both Mr.
M.U. Rai & Mr. D K MOHAN complimented all the staff & students of the
department and appreciated their initiative. Mr Mohan said that the youth
should always think and do what they can for the society and the country instead
of asking what the country has done for them. Dr. B. V. Ravishankar, Principal,
Dr. R. Krishna, Director – PG Studies & Mr. S. Gopalakrishna, HoD of the Department
of Management Studies were present during the programme.
The
dignitaries distributed Certificates of Appreciation to all those MBA students
of Citech who participated in SPARSH.
The program
concluded with the vote of thanks.
