Video presentation on various Production Processes on 23-08-2013



All the B section students (51) were divided into 5 groups and each group were asked to present a video(s) of one production process. Each group were given 3 days of time to prepare the presentation.  Group presented their videos on August 23, 2013 and each team were allotted 15 minutes. Products given to each group are as follows:
Group 1: Car –Toyota & Mercedes Benz
Group 2: Motor Bike –Walton Bikes
Group 3: Airplane –Boeing  
Group 4: Ship building –Hyundai heavy Industries
Group 5: FMCG –Coca Cola
Outcome:
Students learnt about manufacturing process of various products. This activity gave them an idea about how the Operations Department implement management principles into production function. Student learnt about the role of technology in production process. Faculty gave his remarks for each group and each group was appreciated for their efforts.

Activity "Magic with colour shades" on 21/08/2013

MBA Marketing specialization students were asked to write Vision statement of a company of their choice in a white paper, later they were given few color pens and were asked to represent the Vision in a sketch with maximum of 5 strokes. Later the students came with their sketches and they were asking their classmates to identify the theme or vision of the sketch and guess the organization.

As the saying goes "One picture is worth more than 1000 words" our students too proves the same with magic colors and shades. The objective of the activity is to make students aware of using pictures and diagrams where ever appropriate. 

All the students enjoyed the activity, many of them felt they were back in their high school.

Activity on Creativity on 21-08-2013


The activity was conducted in Section A of MBA III Semester


The activity was divided according to the usn wise each group consist of 5 students.The student had been told to make some creative things from any scrap item for eg:coconut shell,used bulb, used soft drinks plastic bottle.It was very interactive and many students used their own ideas to come out with the scarp item one the group had created a flower decoration by using shells of pistas even today HOD sir and Ananth sir also appreciated the students. In this activity there was no cost involved.

"I have a dream" activity on 20-08-2013


 I have a Dream……….


The activity was conducted in MBA III Semester Section B class


Students had to close their eyes and were directed to meditate for five minutes. They were instructed to see a methodical dream of life after ten years. They were instructed to visualise their life in the year 2023, what kind of work they were doing, where they were working what kind of life style they were leading. They were instructed to summarise the entire dream and then allowed to open their eyes slowly.

Students were involved to deliberate their dream to the class individually.


Outcome: The activity outlines Vision of student what he/she wants to be; their long-term view which concentrates on their future. The dream also defines Mission the fundamental purpose of their life, briefly what he/she does to achieve their vision. The relevance of vision and mission for the corporates was understood accordingly.

Inaugaration of I year Classes on 19/08/2013

I Year BE/MBA/MCA/M.Tech classes were inaugurated on 19-08-2013.

"Lost at Sea" activity on 20-08-2013


This exercise was used as activity. It is designed to work mainly within team building and leadership style training. 
Instructions
Part 1
Participants should divide into teams of 5 and then be given 10 minutes to individually rank the 14 items.
Part 2
Team members should then confer for an additional 10 minutes and decide on the team’s priority ranking of the 14 items. 
Part 3
Team members should then compare their individual rankings with those determined by the group as a whole, and discuss why the scores differ, if applicable.  Or, if individuals would re-rank items based on the group discussion, what changed their minds? How where they influenced by the group? 

This activity helped student’s to develop consensus building skills within a team.
This was used to examine the benefits of consensus building vs individual thinking in relation scenario outcome.

The same activity was conducted to marketing specialization students between 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm with the support of Prof. Sunil M Kulkarni

A session on "Campus to Corporate" on 17-08-2013





Mr.Raghunandan, a seasoned HR professional, addressed MBA III semester students on "From Campus to Corporate".

He started the session with the importance of academic score, knowledge, skill, ability, and passion during academics. The importance of being active and assertive in the class room, the importance of case studies, group discussions and interactions with Industry were considered as best practices for any management graduate. He moved on to saying about the various aspects that recruiter looks in the candidate and industry expectations.

He advised students to be active on professional networking sites and make extensive use of technology to upgrade knowledge and get prepared to face interviews in a smooth manner.
